The general pack is a holistic journey across the length of Georgia so that you see it in all its grandeur. To offer you the essence of Tbilisi, we will start off with a trip to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Botanical Garden, and the Narikala Fortress. A trip to the tranquil Lisi Lake follows. We will then head out from the city to explore the range of treasures scattered all over the country. These will include the Jvari Monastery and its picturesque setting, the structural marvel of the Zhinvali Reservoir, lunch by the side of the Aragvi river in Pasanauri, the friendship wall in Gudauri and its impressive mosaic murals, and the sulfur springs in the Kezbegi region. Unlike our other tours, we also take you to the historically rich city of Vardzia and the magnificent Rabati Fortress standing by the shores of the Potskhovi river. We also visit the biggest cave in Georgia, the Prometheus cave in the Martvili Canyon, which will leave you enchanted by its glory and colors. No trip to Georgia, however, is complete without experiencing the beauty of the Bodbe Monastery and Sighnaghi, the city of love. And that’s not all, we have a lot of other things to show you to make your trip memorable and truly unique.
Arrival and Departure
Meeting with the representatives of (Lebanon Tours) at Tbilisi international airport, transfer to the hotel in Tbilisi.
After breakfast in the hotel at 10 o’clock we will start our tour by visiting the holy trinity cathedral known as Sameba. Then we will visit Rike Park, will use the cable car to reach Mother of Georgia, Botanical Garden and Narikala Fortress. After visiting this sights of the city we will walk down to the old city and having lunch. After lunch we will visit Lisi Lake, it is a small lake in the vicinity of Tbilisi, belongs to the Kura River valley. There you can enjoy relaxing with nature and use some of activities there such as Walking by boat, Quado bikes for extremals, cafes & restaurants...
Jvari - Kazbegi - Explore mountains
At 10 o’clock we will start our trip to the mountains. First sight will be Jvari Monastery, which is Jvari is standing on the edge of a high rock and is in wonderful harmony with the severe but extremely picturesque nature of this area. Below, at the foot noisy Kura and Aragvi, two most known rivers in Georgia, are flowing by. Right across lies the extensive panorama of Mtskheta. On the windy slopes near Jvari grows the Tree of Wishes. The pilgrims come there to fasten ribbons with the hopes that their wishes will be granted. Next sight is Zhinvali Reservoir, it was built in 1986 and is responsible for water supply of the capital Tbilisi. After 20 minutes we will feel the spirit of one of the most significant fortresses of the medieval Georgia. Then we will move to Pasanauri where we will lunch and enjoy one of the most of popular rivers - Aragvi. After having lunch we will visit Friendship Wall in Gudauri, on the inside of the round concrete wall, you’ll find an impressive mosaic mural painted in vivid colors, depicting scenes from Russian and Georgian history. A round terrace offers an almost 360-degree view of the snowcapped surroundings. The Kazbegi region is rich in minerals, and a sulphur spring near the road side has become quite a tourist attraction. We will check in in Stepantsminda hotel.
Gergeti Trinity Church – Gveleti Waterfall – Uplistsikhe - Borjomi
From there we will move to Stepantsminda for visiting Gergeti Trinity church by special jeeps, which was built in 14th century, the church is located at 2200 meters above the sea. After that we will move to visit Gveleti Waterfall. The waterfall is located in the village of Gveleti, 7 km from the town of Stepantsminda. After having lunch we will prepare to go to see Uplistsikhe cave, whose name translates to 'Fortress of the Lord', is an ancient rock-hewn town which played a significant role in Georgian history over a period of approximately 3,000 years. Archaeological excavations have revealed extraordinary artifacts dating from the late Bronze Age all the way up to the late middle ages. And after this amazing place we will move to Borjomi. Borjomi is famous for its mineral water industry (which is the number one export of Georgia). We will have walking tour by visiting Borjomi Central Park and will check in in the local hotel.
Vardzia – Rabati castle - Kutaisi
After breakfast driver and tour guide will pick you up from the hotel and will start to visit Vardzia complex and Rabati castle. Vardzia is 18 km from Akhalkalaki right next to the border with Turkey. The city was erected in the 12th – 13th centuries during the rule of George III and his daughter of Tamara for the purpose of the southern boundaries of Georgia protection. Vardzia is not just a set of random rooms cut in rocks. It is a multi-storied complex with streets, tunnels and stairs leading to monasteries, temples, fortresses, baths, libraries dwelling houses and so forth. The old stone Rabati fortress, the main sight of the Akhaltsikhe town, is standing on the small hill on the very shores of the Potskhovi River. Its name comes from Arabic meaning “fortified place”. It is located on the western suburbs and can be seen practically from anywhere in the city. After having launch we will move to Kutaisi city and will have over night.
Prometheus Cave - Martvili canyon
After breakfast we will go to visit Prometheus cave, which is located in 20 km away from Kutaisi in Imereti region in the West of the country. The cave was discovered in 1984 and was almost immediately developed as a show cave. Prometheus is the biggest cave in Georgia. We will have a lunch and will move to visit fascinating canyon – Martvili and will head back to Tbilisi.
Sighnaghi – Bodbe Monastery – Vakirelebi
Lebanon Tours company`s driver and tour guide will pick you up from the hotel in Tbilisi and will start to discover Georgia. First sight will be Bodbe Monastery. According to the legend, St.Nino, 60, died in Bodbe in 335. She crossed the entire country healing and preaching people the true God. St. Nino bequeathed to bury her in this land. Then we will visit Sighnaghi (the City of Love). Sighnaghi is a small town in the east of Georgia situated on the mountainside in the historical region of Kakheti. It is the only city in Georgia that has fully preserved the fortress walls that are crowned with watchtowers, where travelers can climb to get the magnificent view of the Alazan valley. Next point will be Vakirelebi, where we will have lunch and some of the master-classes like khinkali making, bread making... With amazed feeling of discovering Kakheti we will return to Tbilisi.
At the midday the guide and driver will pick you up to have a shopping tour. And in the evening we will have Georgian dances program in the restaurant.
After having breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant we will check out to heading to Tbilisi’s international airport.
