Mtskheta – Gori – Uplistsikhe


After breakfast in the hotel at 10 o’clock we will start our tour by visiting of the oldest towns, the cultural and religious centre of Georgia. Mtskheta was the capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom of Iberia from the third century BC. Visit Jvari Church, a true architectural masterpiece of the early Medieval Period overlooking the confluence of Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers from the top of the hill, and Svetitskhoveli , the main cathedral of Mtskheta and a sacred place where the robe of Christ is being kept. After having lunch will continue our trip and will visit Uplistsikhe Cave - the unique city in the volcanic cliffs. There used to be churches, residential houses, vaults, squares and streets that were full of life. Its history is over 2000 years and there were times when they held there pagan rituals. We can also see how people used to live in stone cells, how their household looked like.After visiting the cave we will move to the Gori to see Stalin`s Museum. The museum includes more than 60,000 artifacts, the tiny house where Stalin was born, and impressive bulletproof train Stalin used to travel to Yalta and Potsdam. Return to Tbilisi.
